I am fascinated to learn that even with the limping economy during the last several months and years, people, more so than ever are skybound and signing up for flight lessons.  Unexpected, but so true.  While many folks are currently without work, those with jobs and have  funds to spare seem to be  pursuing their passion to fly.  When it comes to flight instruction companies, there are lots to choose from, depending on where you  call home. But the teaching techniques  and instruction practices used by the many services are actually surprisingly different.

When you learn to fly any aircraft , it would feel obvious that safety is  paramount and should be the number one priority. Whether you’re a student who’s just starting out or already up to advanced flight training, you just might not be getting  all the correct instruction you need.  In the pacific northwest, I think that Rainier Flight Service, a flight instruction company, gives the most complete training.  Of course, it is critical to learn your way around an airplane , as well as all the essential technological techniques and skills you need to learn. But after watching a presentation provided by Rainier Flight, I was vastly impressed with their approach to flight training.  While learning to fly, safety and emergency preparedness are undoubtedly going to be key .  Yet many services spend an inordinate amount of time teaching you skills and maneuvers to deal with emergencies and head off a disaster.  While this is definitely critical to your learning experience, Rainier takes it a step further by emphasizing all the ins and outs of safety first and foremost.  Their approach is that if you can learn, construe and really know how to avoid an emergency above and beyond anything else, then the chances  of having to use your emergency handling handling skills will be profoundly reduced.

From what I have seen, their outlook on teaching is all about safety and I value that.  Now don’t get me wrong.  It is obvious that learning to fly will ultimately require that you have collected quality flight hours.  You will need to learn everything possible in order to avoid a catastrophe and adjust for any emergency situation.  But Rainier Flight’s approach of first learning all you need to stay safe, followed by handling an emergency situation, is superior.  So if you reside in the northwest part of the US outside of Tacoma or in the Seattle, Washington area, I’m really amazed with Rainier.  Of the numerous flight instructors around, and there are a lot, I emphatically suggest Rainier Flight Service of Seattle.
